Secured cards are designed for consumers who need a credit card for every day stuff like booking travel online, ordering books, or anything in general but who have poor credit. Its a little confusing as to why there are not more secured cards on the market as the risk to to the creditor is absolutely zero.

These are the best cards that we could find. To summarize to qualify for one of these you need to give your credit card company upfront the card limit balance. If you want a $5000 credit limit generally you have to give them $5000 to hold on to while you use your card. You still have to pay the card off as you normally would. You are still charged interest. Of course when you cancel your card you will have the money returned to you, as well as any interest that might have accrued.

This is a great solution for people with poor credit who need a credit card.
